The spring months include a number of popular seasonal events, from Valentine’s Day to Easter that offer great opportunities for foodservice operators and outlets in particular. Research by DaVinci Gourmet has shown that 29% of consumer drink purchases are motivated by a seasonal occasion. As such a range of themed beverages tailored to these events are sure to attract speciality beverage lovers.

With consumer spend over the Valentine’s period predicted to have reached £1.9bn in the UK last year, there is a clear opportunity to capitalise on our love for sweet treats and indulgence at this time of year, whilst simultaneously increasing profits and consumer spend through a limited edition menu. Flavoured syrups and sauces will add passion to standard beverage menus, and an exciting boost of flavour to rebrand existing beverage menus, delivering that important an overall drinking/dining-in experience. These beverages will then add a premium edge and form the basis of an overall seasonally themed offer.

For Valentine’s Day operators can get creative and title beverages in line with the theme, such as a Lovers Latte or Strawberry Sweetheart Frappé, offering something different and setting an offer apart from the competition.

Mintel research has shown that 53% of Brits purchase chocolate over the Easter period and with 53% of Europeans classing hot chocolate as an indulgent treat, chocolate is sure to be at the heart of any Easter offer. INGREDIENTS: 2 pumps DaVinci Gourmet Vanilla Syrup, 2 shots espresso, milk
METHOD: Mix DaVinci Gourmet Vanilla Syrup with espresso, fill cup with textured hot milk
DECORATE: Finish by creating heart shaped latte art with textured hot milk

Passion Iced Tea
INGREDIENTS: 2 pumps DaVinci Gourmet Lemon Tea Fruit Innovations Syrup, 1 pumps DaVinci Gourmet Fruit Innovations Passion Fruit Syrup
METHOD: Fill cup with ice, mix syrups thoroughly, fill cup with still water
DECORATE: Finish with sliced fruits

Strawberry Sweetheart Frappé

INGREDIENTS: DaVinci Gourmet Vanilla Bean Frappé Powder, 2 pumps of DaVinci Gourmet Classic Strawberry Syrup, milk, ice and strawberry segments.
METHOD: Fill cup with ice. Add Vanilla Bean Frappé powder, Strawberry syrup, milk and blend. Blend in strawberry segments and serve.
DECORATE: Top with whipped cream and Strawberry Sauce

Bees Knees Hot Chocolate
INGREDIENTS: 1 pump DaVinci Gourmet Chocolate Sauce, 1 pump of DaVinci Gourmet Honeycomb Syrup, milk, whipped cream
METHOD: Mix DaVinci Gourmet Honeycomb Syrup with Chocolate Sauce, fill cup with textured hot milk and top with whipped cream
