Café Ambassador – Lani Peterson
Lani Peterson, Menu Applications Specialist for Kerry
Prior to joining KERRY in 2004, Lani Peterson worked in coffee shops and cafes in Minneapolis and Seattle whilst attending The Art Institute of Seattle’s culinary school to become a pastry chef where she graduated with a diploma in Baking and Pastry. She now puts those culinary skills to good use as the Menu Applications Specialist for Kerry’s Branded Foodservice Beverage division – a global manufacturer and supplier of premium flavours, ingredients and systems for foodservice. In this position, Lani follows and researches trends though national foodservice market visits to support custom recipe development.
In addition to her full-time duties, Lani volunteers on the Head Judges Training Committee of the United States Barista Championship/Specialty Coffee Association of America as a certified judge. She has judged at the 2011 World Barista Championship held in Columbia, South America, as well as other world and U.S. Barista Championships during the past six years.
A big fan of iced coffee, Lani favours complex flavour combinations and says her ability to try unique, trendy flavours is the best part of her job.
